Pretty in Blue

New in 2009: some cool invitation designs.

I recently designed a few invitations in blue and brown. The first in the series features this pretty scroll design and a monogram. A standard 5X7 card begins with a scroll fixture at the top of the card, then has block lettering and a pretty script font:
This is another take on the same design: the scrollwork is at the left-hand side, and instead of the swirly font, there's a more contemporary, clean feel to the invitation, with block lettering.

This invitation features an abundance of swirl: from the swirled flowers in the corners, to the swirly font used throughout, the look is romantic and vintage.

Tis the season...for invitation design :)

It's that time of year again: as the wedding season winds down, planning season is in full bloom. Brides & grooms are busy hammering details for their 09 weddings, from save-the-dates, to invitations, to insert cards and other elements of design. I'll be featuring some unique paper designs over the next few months to help inspire you, as well as keep you up to date with all of my cool flower designs for the fall and winter season. That said, I'd like to feature an invitation set that  I designed for a friend of mine for her 07/07 wedding. Her colors were shade of purple with orange accents. The actual invitation card was mounted onto a deep purple cardstock backing (I tried to illustrate it with the border at the back)

I love the direction card set that I designed. Printed on 5X5 insert cards, I liked the little graphic drawings & the fun feeling of the card. Here, the orange was brought in as part of the designscape:



The back of the card provided detailed area information for the couple's guests-- favorite places to stay, registry, and the best restaurants for dining out
